Post subject:  Corruption Rune

This rune lets you corrupt any rune you touch. The corruption involves changing the behavior of a rune along with slightly altering the title of the touched rune.

Some of the changes:
Rune of Radiation - The radiation heals everyone instead of hurting them.
Rune of Jumping - Causes the holder of the rune to jump as well.
Tornado Rune - Lasts 4 times longer and doesn't move randomly.
Pack Rat Rune - Corrupts all runes picked up, so dropped runes are corrupted automatically.
Shambler Pet - Spawns an unfriendly Shambler Monster with Quad. This monster has no owner and will attack you. Rune is dropped on pick up, but spawned monster stays.
Blink Rune - Blinks you automatically unless you're firing your weapon.
Death Spots - Arm themselves super fast, meaning they could kill you as you place them. They also expire quickly.
Regeneration - When triggered by damage, reduces your health instead of increasing it.
Corruption Rune - When corrupted it corrects runes instead.
Rune of Divine Wind - Has a 30 second countdown instead of 3.

This effectively will double the number of runes by variation.

Woot!!!! Count me in. :) .. and it's good to see you back sir.
Good to see the RuneQuakePlus mod might be moving forward as it and Deathmatch plus were just so much fun.
I like the rune idea too. It could really help to re-balance things when a player or 2 dominate servers too much with a rune and won't let it go to give less skilled players a chance.

Nice to see a new person join the ranks, or rather a returning one :)

I'm not totally against this but I think this could add to the wackiness of having so many runes already. Perhaps one "Rune of Protection" is in order to ward off against all nonsense.. like it doesn't do anything, just protect the holder from everything else. I think that would be fair. So it would play for the player like vanilla quake with hook, and that's it, no other powers .. just the other runes' effects nullified. Because I think it would be pretty difficult to navigate through all this continuous chaotic storm of runes lol :)

I think that would balance things out if this ever comes to fruition. And I think it should, more diversity is good but I think we also need more maps.. maybe some custom maps thrown in the mix as well. We mostly got dm4 and start going all day, which could get a bit stale after a while, but very nice ideas btw on the runes :)

Sort of like a "Purist Rule" or "Vanilla Rune". Sort of like environmental protection except maybe to the point of even ignoring the changes to other players instead of traps?

Here are some ideas I came up with, hopefully it helps.

Rune of Rage- When low on health, deal significantly more damage (quad, triple?)
Blood Lust Rune- Each kill gains more health, can go up to 999 (or 666 if that's too much)
Rune of Hunting- Shotguns deal major damage at close range
Shambler Coat- Take less damage from explosives
Rune of Quakeman- The mighty Quake-Marine is summoned to assist in battle. Armed with an axe, he is extremely fast and strong, very tough to kill. His colors are 1, 6 just like the real Quakeman!

I like all of those suggestions!! Though, Blood Lust sounds a bit like Vampiric Rune!!
