 Post subject: Bouncing Lightning Demo

I don't know if anyone's tried making bouncing lightning such as this before, but the effect is interesting. Especially when done in long streams (looks like a bouncing urine stream).

rico.dem is the test version, rice2.dem is a more controlled version with limitation. The code is based on my ricochet rune. It runs on a Think at 0.1 seconds recording it's last position using the pos1 feild and generating lightning at it's current location to pos1.

i have seen bouncing lighting on my server.if u have the richochet rune just use shaft(not bfg)and in short burst,your lighting will bounce around.some dude(the other day)klled the hell outta me at dm4 using this trick.

Aye, your server is using this very code I wrote :wink: and it was most likely me killing you with it. :twisted:

Something more challenging is to make bouncing lightning not affected by gravity. Sorta like on zop's mod. I'm pretty sure there's some easy way such as a global, "trace_XXX", from a traceline test you can use.

I made some lightning arch up and down in one version (while being shot normally). The end of it would sway around at random like a long tounge. I don't know what happened to that code I think I removed it because I was just screwing around.
