Mysteri, I have a place you can go to post demos of cheating. Then you can have others look at it before bothering the admin about it. I would suggest some real hard evidence before bothering slot about it. It's a new site I recently setup, and it allows members to post demos right on the forum. I have some I've posted with the same player/different names who I think may be cheating. It is VERY difficult to get that perfect demo, but we have a place to sort all that out..Check it out:

No player there was even any good..Those demos were flat out boring to watch... Yawn! I never found you to be that hard to hit so anyone that kills you is a cheater right?

Thanks urdead..... i don't know how to do a demo, i think gamespy has a demo thingie to click but my windows isn't working right. I can't alt+tab out of quake to possibly create a demo. I don't mean to be a bother to Slot, just thought he has the time to come on and observe a little to kind of monitor when those guys are on.

I don't want to mention names because i'm not quite sure if they are using cheats or whatever, but it kind of looks that way. Even if i was sure, i don't want to accuse anyone, but thought that Slot would know when he sees them. I know i'm not the most difficult player to beat but when your fragged by an almost impossible shot time after time, one begins to wonder. I define "almost impossible shot" as one that can occur maybe once or twice out of 10 difficult shots, not 8 out of 10 difficult shots.

Example of shots like that are consistantly spawning thru a portal and instantaly shooting between 2 layers of pillars, around a wall and getting a directr hit. Or see a player jump into water, with time for that player to move in any one of at least 4 directions and getting direct hits consistantly without see that player thru the water.

Those examples have happened multiple times in games that i have been invovled in and not only to me, as sometimes i have camped and just watched those kinds of shots take place. And those are only 2 examples of many.

I understand skill but some of these players, and i don't care how long a person has played, can't be in the 90 percentile evry game they play. there are too many varibles night after night in games, in pings, in maps, in players etc. for anyone to be almost 100 percent all the time.

I use myself as an example of that. Some nights i can come on and consistantly map after map be in the top 4, other nights i can't buy a frag.

I'm wondering what your using that you can't alt tab out of the game? That maybe your first problem.. Demo's are easy though.. Demi.. if you want help learning this.. This is a good place to ask.

PS.. I will PAY you to bug SLOT on daily basis!!!! Truthfully.. he doesn't mind.

Thank you Pita.... my alt+tab problem i think is a windows problem.... i use glquake and on my old system it worked fine.

My next question is did anything change on the server? Seems for the last 2 nights i can't get on to play. It starts the initialization screen, gets to the "<---- server to client keepalive" message and just sits for umpteen minutes then tells me it couldn't connect or connection lost. Nothing changed on my system that i know of, unless someone hacked me, but i doubt it.

Yes, demos are pretty easy Demi, and like I said you can post them on my site. We can guide you there as well.

Bugging Slot is not the issue, although I'm sure Slot actually might mind a lil bit. The issue is people going to admins with solid evidence, then he can take action, if he so desires. It like saying, "He cheated!" and the admin saying "How do you know?". Since you can't get him real-time the only option you have is to demo.

Maybe slot doesn't mind being "bugged" by a young lady

Hey feel free to post ANY demo you'd like. Just hit the "~" key when you're in the Quake game (the key next to the number 1) and that'll bring up the console. Then type in:

record game.dem

This will begin recording a demo and name it game.dem. You can name it whatever you want... Hit the "~" key to get out of the console. Then you would want to stop the demo, hit the "~" key to get to the console again and just type in:

stop

and that'll stop the recording.

If you want to view the demo you made, get into the game, open the console again and type in:

playdemo game.dem

Some clients allow you to pausedemo as well...others have more options.

Demi.. I had the same problem using that client.. I opted to use GLPro or JoeQuake.. I actually like JoeQuake.. And.. I am a nastly Alt Tabber so I hated not having it. To hyper to stay in a game and having the smaller window for the game was driving me nuts.. I like the full screen!!! Kind of like watching a 13 inch TV compared to the 42 inch.. I think if we changed your client your game might even improve. Your config would remain the same.. And playing/recording demos would be a piece of cake. Something to think about..

Keep in mind not all quake clients allow starting and stopping demoes while you're playing. I use ProQuake and it is allowed.

I can't alt-tab using ProQuake btw, maybe it's my drivers or something. I have the lateset nvidia drivers.

He knows how to run the perfect server, even though he's never attempted to run one.

He knows how to run the perfect messageboard -- when he chooses to edit /delete posts and ban people it will be for the benefit of all. Of course he's had several boards that just disappeared in the past, but I'm sure that was just part of some bigger plan.

He is an expert when it comes to cheat detection of all kinds, a network guru, and the most honorable player to ever play this game.

well, i'm just a little girl... petite... so anything 13 inches looks gigantic to me... put me near a 42 inch TV and you probably couldn't find me.. lol.
I had a 13 inch one in my bedroom once and it looked fine to me.
