Hello all,

It's nice to see some familiar names around after all this time:)
It has been at least 7 years since I use to play runequake and despite that, I just had a vivid dream of running around with my RL blasting others away, (Or being blasted lol). I was running around in one of my favorite levels which I can't remember the name of anymore.

It is the level where you can jump down into a small chamber and press a button, causing the main floor outside to open up and any players around would fall into the lave below, or I would be crushed where I stood if someone caught me in the act and pressed the outside button.

Anyways, this is exactly what I was doing when someone came up to me and shot a "weird" ball at me causing me to go into spasms and seeing shrooms lol.

Then someone else came over and planted a gravity ball right on top which sucked me up and woke me up with a jolt.

I guess the memories and experiences I had so long ago will never die, hence the title of the thread. There is a little bit of runequake in each one of us that will always continue on in the background. Playing stints of runequake for hours and hours back in those days created a major imprint in life and I still think about it in my waking days from time to time.

Since then, I've gone from Everquest to World of Warcraft, and catch myself talking to friends that played EQ in WOW, about the good old days in Everquest lol. I've leveled 2 characters in WOW to level 60 and have pretty much tapered off in playing that game to only occasionally due to real life commitments.

I'd like to get back into Runequake someday (nothing hardcore like the old days though) as I am sure there are many others like me, so it would be a real shame to ever see this board die.

Hats off to Slotzero for keeping the lights on for so long:)

I was browsing the contents of all my old quake files and folder memories just to see what I had stored in there. Among the many *.*config files, and vidoes I found an IP list with the corresponding names in order to filter out who was a bot and who wasn't. Which I then passed on to Slot. Dam, I was serious back then about a game lol:)

gohan, zank, ieee, fuzzy, baker, and crazicracker still play on quake.shmack.com. There are prolly many others, just under different names. Oh, by the way! none of them are bots :)

I doubt he's presenting the list as a list of bots as evidenced by the inclusion of his own name as well as those of several nondescript players. There is at least one bot on the list -- "Hawaii 5-0".
