Post subject:  Lack of Control.
Does anyone notice this playing at shmack. From time to time all input stops working, no mouse, no keyboard. It lasts about 2 3 seconds tops. If I'm moving at the time, I'll just keep moving..just w/o any control. It's annoying.

No, ping is fine. No movement "w a s d" keys, no jumping, no grapple. The only thing that works is mlook, I can look around. 8)

Don't have the problem on other servers, so I'm avoiding shmack for now. :shock:

It was bad yesterday, noticed it soon as I got on, happened maybe 4 or 5 times within 5 minutes. Previously it had been maybe once every 5 minutes or so.

Seems fine since we were on this morning. I went back again around noon with a close to full server and saw no problems. :D

Tonight it is real bad, everyone is leaving, some kind of lag going on. the server crashed once (I assumed) and it was good for a bit, then it started again. :(

Looked like some routes were flapping a few days ago. The connection to would go away and all clients would time out after a minute or two; by then a new route was up and everyone reconnected. Lots of lag, as some of the routes were pretty crazy. Not sure if it was an Essentrix-only thing or if some major carrier was having problems.

I dunno, but it's been annoying this last week. :cry:
Tonight it is ever so slight, you go to grapple and your grapple doesn't fire, you turn to do that impressive 180 but you just coast, you fire to gib that slacker and nothing happens. :cry:

Hopefully things will improve. :D

What is your normal ping in the game?

If this problem happens and you grapple does it not fire, ever? Or will it fire a couple seconds later?

Ping is fine at around 60, rarely goes higher, it feels more like packet loss. You'll be running along and you all of the sudden have no control and keep going straight. Or I click my right mouse button for grapple and it doesn't fire, and it if held it won't fire, unlike a delay because of lag.

At any rate, it was great last night and today so far. The first time it happened it was real bad, no idea if slot rebooted a server or it was some other network connectivity issue. It will most probably clear up.

Post subject:  Maybe not the same problem but...
I've had a problem (but probably not the same) where I am in the middle of a fight... hitting my mouse-fire and nothing happens... I have to keep hitting it and then it will fire. Reconnecting to the server fixes this issue as I have ruled out it being a mouse hardware problem. It's strange, makes me feel like a dumbass when I have a clear shot of two ppl fighting (free frags) and cant do anything...heh
