Please be advised that "Homeless VET" ip 68.52.145.xxx is using an aimbot on quake.shmack.net. Feel free to idle and observer but im 100% as i have banned him on intertex.

I would wonder whether the use of bots lately isn't because Scoffer, Surfer Girl and others are making a lot bot accusations.

(And I do believe Scoffer is serious, which is annoying because I once tried to give him some hints so he could play better. I think Surfer Girl is just joking around, she's funny too)

Considering the amount of baseless bot accusations players, it would not be a surprise if some of the players ...

A) Believe most of the better players are bots.
B) Think using a bot is fine on the server.

I don't believe A) or B) represent what 'most' people think. Just my opinion based on the people I know and see on the server.

I just played a game with Homeless Vet and he wasn't botting. (This doesn't mean for absolute certain he couldn't have been using one earlier, but that is why demos are needed.)

The good thing about the demo standard of evidence is that you can rewatch the demo and be double sure. I know one time I thought someone was using a bot, re-watched the demo and it was clear the player in question wasn't botting, just getting lucky a lot.

i have never seen a non-server bot on a server....i really don't understand the baseless accusations. i guess some people have weak self-esteem. personally i think you should have a script to automatically ban anyone who uses the word "bot". that would be easy don't you think, and not permanent like a ban. seriously, the shit pisses me off after a while. surfer girl pissed me off for a long time but she grows on you and i like her now

LMAO, I bet she is smoking hot... you know how those quake girls do :shock:

About the bot thing - Its true about the accusations pointed at good players (obviously). I just don't see how people like Scoffer and other accusers actually think there are bots on the server. Its so obvious when there is a bot and I have yet to see one on shmack. I just laugh when I see people getting accused. :roll:

actually thats true.being called a bot IS a compliment cause you must be as good as a bot if u can be called one.

Guys I have NEVER USED ANY BOTS.

I am 54 years old have played this since Gooland and before

I have better days some times due to serious health issues. I do have a new fast optical mouse I cannot control well and shoot sporadiclly.

Your Girlfriend has been playing Quake a very long time. Here is an old 1999ish page on QuakeFriends. IHATEHUMANS, among others, knows he is not someone who would use a bot.

Reguarding scoffer being serious, baker. Don't worry, he's not.... He can be convincing at times though.

There was a bot on Shmack last night though. I suspect he is a regular quaker that was playing around with richmark at work or a friends.
