Would it be possible to get this on the to-do list: a simple multiplayer server "browser" like FuhQuake but with 2 differences.

1) Include a text file with the build that has server name + addresses that has a good list of actively played servers.

2) Is it possible to have the proposed JoeQuake server "browser" to have an "update list of servers" option from http://www.Quake1.net (It'd be just a text file sitting at say http://www.quake1.net/servers.txt or something)? And also maybe be able to set the "server list source" like a field get list from "www.quake1.net/servers.txt" (a "you type it in field) but have it default to something usable. This would allow someone to change their list source to another location (so one could want an update server list from another source, like their own personal list or a list at RuneQuake.com or what not).

I'm sure Jackhole would be willing to have a comma delimited 2 field Server Name, Server IP/DNS.

(I'm saying Quake1.Net because Jackhole is very active in maintaining his list and he's been actively involved in Quake a long time, GameAholic.Net as far as I can tell isn't so vigorous but maybe I am wrong and just don't know it but they've never responded to emails as far as I can tell.)


Note when I use the word server "browser", I don't mean scan the servers, I mean similar to FuhQuake where it is just a list.

A simple server browser would be really kickass. I've also been thinking of suggesting this lately.
