The player in question claims that its all him and begins to tease and gloat and irritate the hell out of me. Definately not cool. Cherrie joined the game and when I asked if the was cheating, she vouched for the player in question.
If it is experience, then great! I'd love to spar again and learn to beat him, maybe ask to take look at his config file. It will make me a better player. However, if the "I am a god and no one can beat me attitude" or the "lets face it you suck" attitude persists, then its would be better for me to continue to stay away from Quake. IMO, Its the reason why there are a few players left in this game. Its also BS and it gives me the notion that the player is in fact cheating.
What I mean by this is simple. Every experienced, honest player I've ever had the pleasure of fraggin' against has never, ever needed to reply to stupid accusations and harrasing remarks. If you get accused. Ignore it. You know your not cheating. Why should you interrupt the game to have an irritating discussion and why should I be an ass to other people.
I don't go out of my way to offend the person who I play against. I treat the other players with respect and I'm helpful when someone asks for help. This is my gaming philosophy. Should'nt it be yours?
What I can't believe is that you would call me a cheater Ron1n. I mean I expect that from n00bs, not you. Yes, Ron1n is talking about me. You've been riding my ass for a long time, and harrassing me quite a bit, making rude comments while riding me, calling me a cheater..etc. I ignored most of it, until you just kept hammering. This is why I finally told you that I don't cheat, "you just suck". You're not so innocent as you would lead us to believe. I'm no angel, sometimes I get pissed in a game. Last night I got really pissed, for example and started cussin. Seems like everytime I'd get in a fight, some joker would come a long behind me, or I couldn't get a decent rune...etc. Telefrag protection? Sonar rune? BAH! Ah but that's just letting the stress out, and it works great!
That game I played with Cherrie, heck I cringed like 4 times because 4 shots that I can remember were luck/skill combined and just plain luck. The first one happend when I heard the "cha-ching" of her picking up armor in an adjacent room (I use headphones btw). I counted to about 4 then let one rip down the hall. She pops around the corner just in time to meet Mr. Rocket. I though that was AWESOME! But I was lucky in that:
A) She didn't go the other way
B) She didn't dally and came straight to my room, where an RL is located behind the lift door.
If you don't use headphones, I would strongly suggest it. Especially when the sound is directional.
Ron1n, I actually think you're a decent person I'm sure we can get along and even have some real fun future matches if you're willing? I do not have any ego thing going, however I have been taunting the campers a lot on shmack, just because I hate campers and like to see them leave.
But I don't brag about beating people and I get beat a lot still. Gohan and Quazy still kick my butt, talk about cheatin! heh... And even cherrie manages to squeeze some games out of me..man that Cherrie sure has improved, she beats toyo now....I enjoy playing the likes of them.
I see that you mentioned config files, all I have in mine are bindings to weaps ..etc. Nothing real techinical.
