It seems a lot of times, when I connect to Shmack or if a map changes, my Quake guy is either moving forward or firing. This might have something to do with firing code you discussed with Sputnikutah or maybe not, or it may be possible (but seems unlikely) that is only me.

Doesn't happen all the time; doesn't happen except on Shmack to my knowledge.

(That might be hard, since it occurs on map changes and right when I connect; not exactly demo-friendly times to start recording and recording across maps is weird with Quake)

I think I had the problem on Intertex about 1 hour ago. Maybe something in my config or maybe it is just packet loss.

At this point, I'd say it is probably just my client (PQ 3.50) but I'll record demos when I connect and play I'll see if I can capture the problem in a demo.

How is this hurting your game?

It isn't, it's just weird. Sometimes when a map starts my rocket launcher just fires non-stop and I have to click fire a couple of times to stop it or I'm walking forward.
