it's horrible i can't get on quake!!when i try to start it it says couldn't load gfx/pallate.imp or w_wad loadfile:couldn't load gfxwad!this started happening when i was trying 2 dwnld stuff for the dead zone server(which i had truble with that 2 and still havnt gotten 2 dwnld the sh*t) oh please someone help this poor,poor 12 year old(who really doesnt know that much bout computers) oh wait why am i smiling?

The problem is simple, Quake cannot find your pak0.pak and pak1.pak files.

1. Make sure that quake\id1 folder contains your pak files.

2. Check your Start-In folder to make sure it starts in Quake



3. Make sure your Quake executables are in the folder that also contains the id1 folder and that the id1 folder contains the pak files.

4. Double check your Windows short-cut.

The Quake isn't finding the pak files. Unless you have an unusually strange problem, and based on what you said, this doesn't fit, you have either unzipped these other Quake clients to the wrong folder or your shortcuts to them are not indicating the proper working directory.

The following installers warn if you are trying to install to a folder that is not correct, you might consider trying one of them:

Too bad it doesn't come with OgrOs monster models Joe Quake is really nice with the engine bit. I switch between my Custom GLPro and JoeQuake.
