Ok. Look. I am for free speach and what not as much as the next guy. And I've held my tongue, cause Scoffer's allowed to say whatever he wants. But the point is, Scoffer is ruining gameplay on shmack. He calls EVERY person a bot, I'm not kidding you. Most of you can vouch to this. He sits there and is such a dick just ruining the game. Yes, some of you are going to say "don't pay attention", "don't respond", and normally I don't, but just reading him be such a problem on the server annoys the crap out of me. This has been an ongoing problem. He never, ever, shuts up. Something seriously needs to be done with this kid. He's pushing my last nerve, and I'm not going to do something to him, I don't do that shit anymore. But I swear , he's driving me too. Anybody else feel this way about this fag? Scoffer ruins the fun at shmack.

Yeah, I've been there before.

Usually Scoffer doesn't bother me, but one time I was very upset with his bot accusations and made a post somewhat similar to yours.

Better to develop a strong immune system than let someone verbally "own you".

Just learn to ignore him. He's not the only one, Quake has had troublemakers since the game came out. If you can't deal with Scoffer, how are you going to deal with the next Scoffer.

Everyone has their 'thing'. Toyo/Silent Bob says one thing a month on the server, scoffer calls everyone a bot. If it's a fast level like dm6 or start, there isn't even enough time to type a response, or much less, read a sentence.

I'm always amused when I'm called a bot. It was more amusing when I was a keyboarder (though quite rare), but I take it as a compliment!

I like runequake, but I haven't played it much in quite a while. 1 reason is that there are more busy quake servers lately, but also there are a few players that completely ruin the game with the bot bs etc.

I know slot your opinion is that the less moderation the better, to just let people play and people should only be banned for cheating. However, these 3-4 people hurt the community, and cause people to leave the server and not want to play.

I see no reason why these 3-4 players shoudl be allowed to chat in game. They only connect to the server to troll. These players should receive a "chat ban" until they agree to stfu. If they want to come to play, they can do so. If they dont want to play cause they are only in it for pissing people off, they should leave, because if they don't others will.

Dude! There are other servers. Someone can play at Fear or other places if they choose.

Quake has always had wonderful little characters with little beady eyes lurking on servers.

If it makes people want to leave the game, why are there usually 10+ players at Shmack, heh.

The trolls are part of Quake, always have been. And trolls that hang around the server all day make good Quaking business.

Who wouldn't want to connect to a server with 3 or 4 players that stroke your ego by calling you a bot.

Do you know how many players over the years that they have bragged they got called "a bot" on the server?

If someone is calling you a bot, then single him out and frag the crap out of him. Don't even touch the other players until the guy leaves. When I was an admin some time ago I kicked a player for using racial slurs. I didn't ban him so he just kept coming back. So I just singled him out and when he asked why I wasn't kicking anymore I said because it was more fun to trash him and with that he left. Just my 2 pennys.

If anyone, anyone.....doesn't believe that these people have a modified game going...then they're fools. Frenzy, sole, samson, cookie, foq, monster, and tonight even Mithril was cheating. How can someone with a 150 ping beat a 60 pinger ( both ol school players) by a double score? No one, I mean NO one, has the ability to Lightning Gun another player , constantly, while the player is grappling in multiple directions. Not humanly possible, without a little cheat help. PERIOD.



Don't try and convince people they aren't such things, cause I had a mod'd glpro.exe that had auto aim built in, and it worked like a charm. Buts its the most boring thing in the world to play that way to me. Not to mention completely bannable play. But for some people, its the only way to get their thrills is to be at the top....and they cheat to do it.

There are those kind of people in every aspect of life. Those who think they are smarter than the system, but never accept the truth that they are known for what they are. Cheats.

So if the bot is to hot, then stay your cheating ass's out of the kitchen.

Scoffer, you're just retarded. If any of the people you listed above did cheat, then they would be gone. I am one of the greatest quake players of all time, nobody complained that you called me a cheater, I'm used to it as good as I am, I'm just tired of you running your mouth. But that's fine. Maybe "somebody", "somewhere", will just take your connection away when they get tired of you blabbing.

I've been called a bot for years, doesn't bother me. It's a compliment. But if I cheated, I'd be gone. Thus - everything you say is bullshit. By the way, you should wipe your lip off, I STILL see bullshit running down it. And you said if you can't stand the heat, stay out the kitchen? Sounds like you can't stand the heat boy. Stay off the server.

Or at least it feels that way when you are fighting Catgirl, Surfergirl, Clayborn and Scoffer.

I'm not sure it would feel that way in a game with WeirdQ, Smooth, Corso, Ryu, Koopa, Gohan, Quazy, Hideo, Phocus/Angel/Kathos, Pendragon and Slot Zero

I've quaked with all of those guys. I keep up with all of them. And kathos? are you kidding me? Jamal and I are good friends, I was whoopin on him last night. Don't forget, I'm not a shmack new player, I'm oldschool and play shmack for fun. It doesn't "feel that way", I've proven it. Over and over on the CTF, CA, DM servers. Thanks.
